George V. Higgins

George V. Higgins was an American writer and newspaper columnist known for his crime novels. Over his lifetime, he authored more than thirty books, with his most notable work being The Friends of Eddie Coyle, published in 1970, which is recognized for helping to define the Boston noir genre. Born in Massachusetts, Higgins attended Boston College, graduating in 1961, before pursuing a master's degree at Stanford and returning to Boston College to obtain his law degree.
