Garth Stein

Garth Stein is the author of the renowned book, The Art of Racing in the Rain, which became a New York Times bestseller and was later adapted into a film featuring Kevin Costner, Milo Ventimiglia, and Amanda Seyfried. Born in Los Angeles and raised in the Seattle area, Stein has a varied heritage; his mother is of Tlingit Indian and Irish descent, while his father is the child of Jewish immigrants from Austria. He resides in Seattle with his wife and their children.
