Gail Oust is an American author known for her cozy mystery novels and historical romance novels written under the name Elizabeth Turner. She is the creator of the Bunco Babes Mysteries featuring Kate McCall and the Spice Shop Mysteries series. Throughout her life, Gail and her husband Bob have resided in Chicago, upstate New York, and the Detroit suburbs. After relocating to a small South Carolina town similar to Kate McCall’s hometown, Gail transitioned from writing historical romances to cozy mysteries. Having enjoyed mysteries since childhood, particularly the Nancy Drew series, this change was seamless for her. Gail Oust published her first novel, Sweet Possession, in 1986 as Elizabeth Turner.
