Frederick Ramsay is an American author known for books like Copper Kettle and The Wolf and the Lamb. He has created four distinct book series: the Jesse Sutherlin Mystery series, the Botswana Mystery series, the Jerusalem Mysteries series, and the Ike Schwartz Mystery series. Born in the Baltimore area to a respected scientist father and a mother who was a teacher and researcher, Ramsay spent his youth on the East Coast before attending graduate school in Chicago, where he earned his doctorate. Throughout his life, he held various jobs and achieved considerable success before turning to writing later in his career.
