Erin Morgenstern is an American fantasy novelist who grew up in Massachusetts. She started writing as a young teenager and studied theatre and studio art at Smith College, where she focused on playwriting but never completed any plays. After some time contemplating her writing career, she became serious about it. Erin resides in Manhattan with her husband. She made her debut as a published novelist in 2011 with "The Night Circus," which was later optioned for film by Summit Entertainment.
