Order of Eric Wright Books

Eric Wright (1929-2015) was an English-Canadian writer known for his mystery novels, including the Charlie Salter and Joe Barley series. Born and raised in London, England, he relocated to Canada in 1951. Wright obtained his B.A. from the University of Manitoba in 1957 and his M.A. from the University of Toronto in 1963. He taught English at Ryerson University from 1958 to 1989. Throughout his writing career, he received several accolades, including the Arthur Ellis Award, the City of Toronto Book Award, the John Creasey Award, and the Crime Writers of Canada Grand Master Award. Wright launched his novel-writing career in 1983 with The Night the Gods Smiled, and his last novel, a standalone work titled The Land Mine, was published in 2015.
