Emily St. John Mandel is a Canadian writer who grew up in British Columbia. She left school at the age of 11 to study contemporary dance in Toronto. After that, she resided in Montreal before relocating to New York City. Her novel Station Eleven received multiple nominations for Best Book and won the Arthur C. Clarke Award.
