Elizabeth Ironside is the pseudonym of British author Lady Catherine Manning. She was raised in a village in Northamptonshire and earned a Bachelor’s degree in history, followed by a Ph.D., from Oxford University. After completing her education, she worked as a teacher before turning to writing novels. Elizabeth is married to Sir David Manning, a former British ambassador to the United States.
