Elizabeth Gilbert is an American author and journalist, renowned for her breakout book, Eat Pray Love, which became a global bestseller and was adapted into a major film featuring Julia Roberts in the lead role. The book's immense popularity led Time Magazine to recognize her as one of the most influential people in the world. Gilbert studied political science at New York University, where she also dedicated her nights to writing short stories. Seeking to enrich her life experiences, she spent considerable time traveling after college, gathering inspiration for her future fiction career. She worked in journalism for several years before transitioning to novel writing. Notably, an article she wrote about bartending served as the inspiration for the film Coyote Ugly, prior to her first novel.
