Delia Owens

Delia Owens is an American author and wildlife scientist residing in Idaho. She has penned several books reflecting her experiences as a wildlife scientist in Africa. Her debut novel is "Where the Crawdads Sing." Delia was raised by a mother who loved the outdoors, instilling in her a passion for nature from an early age. She learned to embrace wildlife and discovered that nature could be one of her greatest allies. It was only natural for her to attend the University of Georgia, where she earned a degree in Zoology. She then pursued a PhD in Animal Behavior at the University of California, Davis. After completing her education, she spent nearly two decades in Africa, initially studying the lions of the Kalahari and later researching elephants in the North Luangwa Valley of Zambia. Upon returning to Idaho, she now focuses much of her efforts on the conservation of grizzly bears, wolves, and wetlands.
