David Putnam is an American author and former law enforcement officer, renowned for his Bruno Johnson Thriller series. His law enforcement career was primarily based in California, where he served in various roles, including Patrol, Investigations, SWAT, Narcotics, Violent Crimes, Criminal Intelligence, Internal Affairs, and the Detective Bureau. He also worked as a coordinator in the child protective services division. Later in his career, he moved to Hawaii, where he served as a special agent in a division reminiscent of the television show Hawaii 5-0. Now retired, he dedicates himself entirely to writing and cultivating avocados.
