Craig Alanson is an American science fiction author known for the Expeditionary Force series and the Ascendant series, among other works. His journey to becoming a writer was quite unusual. After reading a book he found exceptionally poor, he felt inspired to write a better one and began his writing journey. He continued to self-publish his works, which gained popularity among readers, ultimately leading him to the New York Times Bestseller list.
