Chris McQueer is a Scottish author and spoken word performer, renowned for his use of the Scots language in storytelling. His writing features a blend of dark comedy and surreal humor that resonates with a Scottish audience. Before becoming a published author, McQueer worked as a “sandwich artist” at Subway. He began his writing journey by self-publishing short stories on Twitter, eventually gaining enough followers to release his first book collection, Hings, which compiled the stories he shared online. This collection won the Best Short Story Collection at the 2018 Saboteur Awards, propelling his career forward.
