Chris Hauty is an American thriller novelist, primarily recognized for his work as a screenwriter across major studios and various genres. After graduating from Reed College in Portland, Oregon, he relocated to New York, where he wrote plays while working as a bike messenger and graphic artist. After a few Off-Off-Broadway plays were produced, he sold a screenplay to 20th Century Fox, which led him to move to Los Angeles and begin a 30-year career in screenwriting.
