Charles Cumming is a British writer known for his spy fiction novels. He studied at Eton College and earned a 1st Class Honours degree in English Literature from the University of Edinburgh. The Observer has likened him to renowned spy fiction authors like John le Carré and Len Deighton. In 1995, Cumming was recruited by MI6, an experience that inspired his debut novel, A Spy by Nature, which features the character Alec Milius. Since 2001, he has resided in Madrid, Spain.
