Order of Blaize Clement Books

Blaize Clement (1932-2011) was an American author known for her mystery novels and romance novels under the pseudonym Lee Silvey. She created the Dixie Hemingway cozy mystery series, which her son, John Clement, has continued. Prior to her writing career, she studied at the University of Houston and Baylor University with the intention of becoming a clinical psychologist. Clement enjoyed exploring themes of animal intelligence and nobility in her work. Her favorite author was Rudyard Kipling, and she often asked her children to let her read The Elephant’s Child to them, even recording herself reading it for her grandchildren. She published her first book, Curiosity Killed the Cat Sitter, in 2005 at the age of 73. In her final months, she collaborated with her son, John, on The Cat Sitter’s Pajamas and The Cat Sitter’s Cradle before passing away from cancer.
