Ben Kane is an Irish author known for his historical fiction novels, including the Forgotten Legion Chronicles, Hannibal, and Eagles of Rome series. He was born in Kenya to Irish parents while his father worked as a veterinarian. At the age of 7, his family returned to Ireland. Throughout his childhood, Ben was an enthusiastic reader, particularly drawn to military and historical fiction. However, he never aspired to be a writer; his dream was to become a veterinarian. After completing his education, he began his career and relocated to the UK, but he developed a passion for travel, spending months and years exploring nearly 70 countries across all seven continents. Ben currently resides in North Somerset, England, with his wife and family. He published his first book, The Forgotten Legion, in 2008.
