Anita Diamant is an American author known for both fiction and non-fiction works. She received her B.A. in Comparative Literature from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, and her Master’s degree in English from the State University of New York at Binghamton. Following her education, she relocated to Boston, where she has resided ever since. Anita began her writing career as a freelance journalist, contributing to outlets like the Boston Phoenix, the Boston Globe, and Boston Magazine, and later to regional and national publications such as New England Monthly, Yankee, Self, Parenting, Parents, McCalls, and Ms. She is married and has an adult daughter. Anita made her authorial debut in 1986 with the non-fiction book How to Find and Work with a Literary Agent, and her first novel, The Red Tent, was published in 1997.
