Allen Eskens is an American author known for his crime thriller novels and is a USA Today bestselling writer. He was raised in the hills of Missouri and holds a journalism degree from the University of Minnesota, along with a law degree from Hamline University. Following law school, he pursued creative writing in the M.F.A. program at Minnesota State University-Mankato. For 25 years, Allen has worked as a criminal defense attorney in Minnesota, where he resides with his wife, Joely. He made his publishing debut in 2014 with the novel The Life We Bury. Throughout his career, he has received several accolades, including the Barry Award, Rosebud Award, and Silver Falchion Award, and has been a finalist for numerous others.
