Order of Alison Weir Books

Alison Weir is a British author known for her historical non-fiction and fiction works, all centered around the British monarchy. She has penned biographies of notable royals including Elizabeth I, Henry VIII, Mary, Queen of Scots, and Isabella of France, among others. Additionally, she has explored the British Royal Family Tree and the Wars of the Roses. Weir dedicated four years in the 1970s to researching Henry VIII, resulting in a biography that was ultimately too lengthy and rejected. Her first published work came in 1989 with Britain’s Royal Families: The Complete Genealogy. The Henry VIII biography was later revised and published as The Six Wives of Henry VIII in 1991. In 2006, Weir ventured into fiction with Innocent Traitor, which focuses on Lady Jane Grey, and subsequently wrote novels about Elizabeth I and Eleanor of Aquitaine.
