Order of Alexandre Dumas Books

Alexandre Dumas, père (1802-1870) was a French writer renowned for his historical fiction and adventure novels, as well as his work as a playwright. He is most famous for his novels The Three Musketeers, The Count of Monte Cristo, The Man in the Iron Mask, among others. His literary creations have been adapted into over 200 films and translated into more than 100 languages. Dumas was the grandson of French nobleman Antoine Davy de la Pailleterie, the son of Thomas-Alexandre Dumas – the first black general in French history – and the father of Alexandre Dumas, fils, who was also a writer and playwright. Dumas began his career in playwriting in 1829 with Henry III and His Courts, at the age of 27. As recently as 2008, an unfinished manuscript by Dumas was completed and published, titled The Last Cavalier.
