Order of Akwaeke Emezi Books

Akwaeke Emezi is an author and video artist who made their debut with the autobiographical novel Freshwater. The book received recognition as a New York Times Notable Book and was also selected as a Best Book of the Year by the New Yorker, NPR, the Chicago Public Library, and Buzzfeed. In addition to its acclaim, Freshwater is being developed into a television adaptation by FX. Emezi was born in Umuahia and grew up in Aba, Nigeria. They were also recognized by the National Book Foundation, making the “5 Under 35” list.
