He went on to major in journalism and then started working at the Lexington Leader – a job he held for 22 years before he started writing fiction, which he started to do during his afternoons off. He wrote one series, the Sheriff Chick Charleston series. Guthrie was awarded a Pulitzer Prize for fiction for the novel The Way West and was nominated for an Academy Award for the screenplay to the classic film Shane (based on Jack Schaeferβ€˜s novel).

A.J. Finn is an American author best known for his breakout debut, The Woman in the Window. The book was a massive hit upon the time of its release and has been translated into many languages. The book has also been made into a film. A.J. Finn is actually a pen name for the author, Dan Mallory. Mallory was a long time book editor and worked in publishing for a decade. He mostly worked on mysteries and thrillers, with that being his chosen genre here. A.S. King is an American author of young adult novels. When she began writing, her novels began earlier in a character’s life and moved onto adulthood. She was unaware of the young adult market at the time. King was having trouble getting published, as it was difficult to categorize her work. When an editor asked her β€œsomething weird,” things came together and she ended up getting published. Her novels are not planned, but instead she starts with a character and develops them as she goes. King spent several years living in Ireland, where she and her husband renovated a farm and she worked in adult literacy.
